A Nassau County police officer has emerged as a suspect in the bombing death of an undercover narcotics detective in what may have been a love triangle, a police source said Tuesday.

The victim apparently had been having an affair with the suspect's wife, the source said.

The source, who spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity, said the suspect is a Nassau County police officer in his 40s who has 20 years on the force, and who is attached to the Nassau County Emergency Services Bureau.
